ALT Linux MATE Description

ALT Linux MATE is a free, open source and easy to use GNU/Linux distribution based on the main edition of ALT Linux, but using MATE as its default desktop environment. It is a Linux distribution targeted at old computers. Among the included applications, we can mention Atril document viewer, Eye of MATE image viewer, ImageMagick display, MATE player, Mozilla Firefox web browser, Caja file manager, Engrampa archive manager, MATE calculator, pluma text editor, MATE Terminal, Midnight Commander, Kerberos ticket watcher, XTerm, dconf, and others. ALT Linux is a Russian Linux distribution that offers supports for the English and Russian languages, and it’s available in many editions, with the Cinnamon, KDE, GNOME, Razor-qt, Xfce, IceWM, LXDE desktop environments. ALT Linux MATE is distributed as Live CD ISO images, offering support for the 32-bit and 64-bit architectures, and allowing users to use the system directly from the live media (CD or USB (with support for persistent sessions)). Installation on a local disk drive is also possible with the included installation script.
