ALT Linux Rescue Description

ALT Linux Rescue is an open source Live CD Linux distribution based on the ATL Linux operating system and designed to help system administrators to repair and fix all sorts of problems with systems. With ALT Linux Rescue, you will be able to perform hardware diagnostics, resize partitions, fix bootloaders, filesystems and partitions, recover files or entire partitions deleted by accident, backup and restore files to network servers, optimize filesystem usage, diagnose remote services and network issues, as well as to wipe partitons or entire hard disk drives. Among the included tools, we can mention Refind, Smartmontools, TestDisk, PhotoRec, Bonnie++, chntpw, ddrescue, cpuburn, exfat-utils, hdparm, gpart, parted, ipmitool, memtest86+, lft, netcat, scalpel, rsync, uudeview, wipefreespace, and whdd. ALT Linux Rescue is distributed as Live CD ISO images, supporting both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures. It is designed to be executed directly from the Live media.
