Alfa Ebooks Manager Description

The growing popularity of e-books make more and more necessary to count with tools that allow us to keep our e-library perfectly organized. Alfa Ebooks Manager has been designed to help you manage your e-book collection just as a professional library service would do – it offers you book cards, tools to classify your e-books, search tools, duplicates control, an on-screen e-reader, e-book conversion, and many other features. On top of its extensive functionality, Alfa Ebooks Manager is, above all, a very attractive utility. From its stunning bookshelf view to the overall design of all windows and dialogs, this tool’s look and feel really catches your eye right away. But the program is much more than just “a pretty face” – it comes with everything you need to catalog and organize your collection, to complete your e-books’ metadata by grabbing them from the Web, to move books from your collection to your favorite e-reader and vice versa, to convert your e-books to other formats, to read your e-books on your PC, etc. Alfa Ebooks Manager can search for books on your PC and add them to your collection in no time. It supports all kinds of e-books, at least when it comes to importing them to your collection. When it comes to reading them using its built-in e-reader, converting them between formats, or parsing and editing their metadata the lists differ somehow. The most common formats, such as EPUB, MOBI, PDF, or FB2, appear on all lists, though. The list of supported e-book formats for conversion is probably the shortest one, regrettably. The program offers specific support for your Kindle, allowing you to send books to and retrieve e-books from your e-reader easily. The program’s documentation states that other e-readers are also supported, but it doesn’t specify which brands or models, so I guess you’ll have to download and install the trial version, connect your device, and see what happens. You can also import your entire collection from other e-libraries, such as Calibre, Bookcat, Google Library, or a CSV file. Alfa Ebooks Manager is not a free tool, though it is not terribly expensive either. I really liked the way it looks and all its library-related features, but I have to admit that I missed functionality that you can find in well-known free alternatives on the Web, such as larger e-book conversion capabilities or the possibility of editing the e-book itself and not only its metadata.
