foo out wasapi Description

foo out wasapi is a lightweight plugin developed for the foobar2000 application which enables you to choose the output data format for an audio stream. It’s a tool that relies on the use of Windows Audio Session API or WASAPI which allows you to manage the audio data transfer from the application to audio endpoint devices such as headphones, speakers, microphones and CD players. foobar2000 is a highly customizable audio player that can handle just about any format that is out there. To add foo out wasapi to the application you just copy its DLL file to the ‘Components’ folder and that’s it. Once it’s there, you simply have to restart the application and you get some new options in the ‘Output’ section of the foobar2000 configuration. With foo out wasapi you get to choose between new devices such as WASAPI speakers or headphones for which you are able to adjust the buffer length and output format. The plugin integrates perfectly into the main application interface so you shouldn’t have any kind of problems using and setting up foo out wasapi. The plugin allows you to choose between 8, 16, 24 and 32-bit depth outputs and you also get to toggle audio dithering. foo out wasapi’s use is pretty straightforward and requires no special configuration prior to its use. One thing you need to be aware of and careful with at the same time is choosing the output data format. Using a bit depth which exceeds the capabilities of your hardware only leads to degraded performance. In closing, if you’re a foobar2000 user and are in need of an easy way in which to improve sound processing, you can certainly try foo out wasapi.
