U.S. Citizenship Test Description

U.S. Citizenship Test is a free self-training software application designed for those people who are about to apply for the United States of America citizenship. The program provides you with all the key information that can be used as part of the mentioned test, plus self-evaluating tools that will allow you to know exactly when you are ready to go and take the test. The program is basically divided into three sections - Study Guide, Practice Section, and Test Yourself. In the first one, you can choose between "United States History Study Guide" and "United States Government Structure Study Guide". Each of them shows well-summarized texts that contain key and relevant information related to the topic selected, including practical definitions. Therefore, you will need to set aside sufficient time to study them, and get indeed prepared. The program allows you to select and copy those texts, and also to print them out directly. The second section of the program, "Practice Section", allows you to select a question from a one-hundred-question bank and write your answer. You will then get the correct one, so that you can compare both answers and know how prepared you really are. Finally, the third section, "Test Yourself", simulates a real citizenship test, and it allows you to select the number of questions you would like to answer, between 5 and 95. When the test begins, you will be asked one question at a time, allowing you to choose the correct answer from among four options. When you finish it, the program presents you a summary of your results, indicating the number of correct and incorrect answers, and your success rate. This program is really interesting, easy to use, and educational. However, its last revision dates back to 2002, and it seems not to have been updated since. Despite historic facts have remained unchanged, there are some pieces of information that no longer match the present time - for example, it still considers George W. Bush to be the current President of the United States of America. As for the rest, it is a great software tool. Ricardo Soria Editor rating:
