TTSX ActiveX Control Description

The TTSX ActiveX Control provides text-to-speech capability for your software application. The TTSX control is based on the Microsoft Speech Application Programing Interface (SAPI) technology. SAPI provides interfaces to text-to-speech (TTS) and automated speech recognition (ASR) engines. Basic, no-charge TTS and ASR engines are provided by Microsoft or you may choose to purchase a license for much higher quality engines from third-party manufacturers. Overlying the SAPI technology is the TTSX control The TTSX control provides for asynchronous operation of the SAPI subsystem, allowing your application to queue text for speaking and proceeding with program execution. The TTS rendering can be customized by providing grammar rules that configure the TTSX control for your application.
