Sofonica Folder Soldier is a folder encryption tool that can be used to restrict access to user-defined directories. Although it can play a key role in the overall security system of your computer, Sofonica Folder Soldier is impressively easy to use, providing a great set of intuitive options packed in a straightforward GUI. The installation process is the one that helps users make the first steps in the configuration process, asking for a password that shall be used for both accessing the program and opening the locked folders. Once launched, Sofonica Folder Soldier places an icon in the Windows System Tray that enables you to instantly access the main window of the app and lock or unlock specific folders. Don’t worry though, clicking the Tray icon prompts you for the password, so only authorized access is allowed. Adding new folders to the locking system is as easy as pie: a dedicated panel lets you browse the local disks and select the directories to be protected with just one click. There are no other options to play with, which can actually be good news for rookies, but terrible news for professional users who wanted to configure every single bit of the application. On the good side however, Sofonica Folder Soldier works smoothly and doesn’t seem to hamper system performance. It crashes on Windows 7 however every time you click on the System Tray icon. All things considered, Sofonica Folder Soldier is one of easiest to use programs supposed to block access to some user-defined folders.
