Ringy Dingy Description
Ringy Dingy is a small Windows tool that can create iPhone ringtones using the multimedia files stored on your computer. With an interface that resembles an iPhone, Ringy Dingy doesn't require advanced computer skills, but instead it needs iTunes to be installed on your computer. The whole process of creating a ringtone is pretty simple actually. First, you need to pick a file that's stored on the local disk. Ringy Dingy works with many popular formats, including MP4, MP3, AIF, WAV, MP4 and M4R. Once the application successfully loads the file, it processes the ringtone and places it right in the ringtone section of iTunes, which then allows you to quickly transfer the files to your iPhone. There's no help manual available in the program, but that's not at all a problem since everything's so intuitive, so Ringy Dingy tries to appeal to both rookies and more experienced users. It runs smoothly on all Windows versions and doesn't require special user privileges on Windows 7 machines. Instead, it needs iTunes to be installed on your system in order to work properly and transfer the created ringtones to the corresponding section in Apple's app. Overall, Ringy Dingy is indeed a helpful tool that can be safely used by iPhone owners who want to create a ringtone effortlessly. Drag and drop support is also available, while the application is compatible with the commonly-used formats. Reviewed by Bogdan Popa, last updated on August 30th, 2012
