Processor Affinity Manager is a lightweight Windows application built specifically for helping you change the processor affinity for any running process. It sports a clean and straightforward layout that allows you to set up the dedicated parameters with minimum effort, The program automatically generates a list with all processes that are currently running on your computer, and lets you set the processor affinity for the selected one. This means that you are given the possibility to bind or unbind a process or a thread to a CPU or multiple CPUs, so the process is executed only on the designated option. What’s more, you can refresh the current list with just one click, manage default process affinities in Windows, create a shortcut that allows you to start a process with a given affinity, as well as generate a shortcut onto which you can drag and drop files in order to run them with a specific processor affinity. Last but not least, you can integrate the program in the context menu for quickly selecting the file or program that you want to process, and use the Windows Service for executing processes and automatically setting the default affinities. During our testing we have noticed that Processor Affinity Manager carries out a task quickly. It doesn’t eat up a lot of CPU and memory, so the overall performance of the computer is not hampered.
