Open Player Description

Open Player is a video player that offers support for AVI, MPG, WMV, MPEG, ASF, VOB and MKX file types. It features a few handy options that can be easily used by anyone, even those with little or no kind or experience in video playback tools. The setup procedure is fast and does not need special attention, since it comes packed with basic buttons. The interface is good-looking and intuitive, allowing users to import videos using either the file browser, folder view or drag-and-drop method. It is possible to perform actions shared with most video players, such as pausing/resuming and volume adjustment. You can also create playlists (saving them is not possible in the unregistered edition), switch to full screen mode, as well as show or hide playlists. As far as program preferences are concerned, you can enable repeat mode as well as disable keyboard shortcuts. Open Player has a fair response time and uses low-to-moderate RAM and low CPU, so it shouldn't put a strain on the overall performance of the computer. We have not come across any problems throughout our evaluation, since the tool did not hang, crash or pop up error messages. Although it does not comprise advanced settings, Open Player offers a simple solution to playing some popular video types, and it can be used by anyone.
