NNTPScan Description

NNTPScan is an NNTP Scanning tool to locating messages with specific attributes in both news spools using NNTP client commands and from a live feed (IHAVE and TAKETHIS feeds). It is designed to be highly efficient in terms of processing time, network load, and server load. NNTPScan relies upon the xhdr command documented in "RFC 2980 - Common NNTP Extensions". This command is widely implemented, and avoids delays introduced by round-trip and spool lookup latency. NNTPScan has been successfully tested against a number of server products and sites (Both commercial and free news servers and services).
