Editor's review: A customizable web browser for all your typical browsing needs. Pros: Lunascape has been a fairly popular web browser in Japan and is now seeking to capture more of the world market. It supports both Gecko and Trident, which are the most widely used rendering engines (that is stuff that translates HTML code and renders it so that it visually it is in a form that we are capable of reading content from, and for which the HTML code was written in the first place), which are used by Firefox and Internet Explorer, so it is fully compatible with other browsers. It has a very attractive interface and in one word is “simply” better looking than its standard counterparts: Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox etc. It allows plug-ins and add-ons in much the same way as Firefox does and so its functionality can be improved through their use. Not only that, you can also customize as you please. For example, there are already hundreds of custom screens that are available on the web. One of its best features is that when a webpage gets stuck, you don’t have to close the entire browser, but just the tab that got stuck. Not only RSS feeds but Podcasts can also be accessed through Lunascape. Navigation can be done with the use of the mouse and “mouse gestures”, which allow to jump far back or far forward as well as refresh by using those “gestures”. Best of all, there is an auto-save feature for things such as an email window, forms etc. which allows you to retrieve this in case of a crash or accidentally closing a window. Cons: It works. It looks good. The only problem might be that until it becomes more popular there will not be enough customizations available. Mouse gestures will take a little time to learn. It may need some tweaking to get the auto-saver to work as you desire – that is to no longer keep saving once your job is done. Overall: Definitely 5 stars. Publisher's description:
