JPGasPDF Description

JPGasPDF is a simple-to-use and fast utility that turns images into PDF documents. It offers support only for JPG format. It is a portable app, so it is not necessary to install it. It means that you can put the EXE file anywhere on the hard disk and just click it to run. An alternative is to save JPGasPDF to an external hard drive, USB disk or other removable storage device, in order to use it on any machine with minimum effort and without previous installers. Moreover, the Windows registry does not get updated with new entries, and no files are created on the disk without the user's approval, leaving no traces behind after removal. The interface is not attractive at all, but at least it is intuitive to navigate (we should take into account that JPGasPDF has not been updated for a long time). JPG pictures can be added to the processing list with the help of the file browser or drag-and-drop function. Although multiple items can be included at the same time for conversion, you should know that JPGasPDF does not create a new PDF document for each picture, but merges everything into one file instead. The file list shows the full path for each photograph. It is possible to rearrange them into any order by dragging and dropping them. Furthermore, this list of entries can be exported to file for later resuming the project, provided that the pictures in question remain in the same location as recorded in file list. JPGasPDF carries out a task quickly and uses low CPU and RAM in the meantime, so its impact on computer performance is barely noticeable. It has a good response time and delivers PDFs with quality graphics. We have not come across any problems throughout our evaluation, since the tool did not freeze, crash or pop up error messages. Although it has not been updated for a while, JPGasPDF serves its purpose and can be used by anyone, even those with minimal experience in PDF conversion utilities. Too bad it does not integrate an option for converting multiple images into separate PDFs, apart from the merging feature. Reviewed by Elena Opris, last updated on January 8th, 2014
