DH_Reverb Description

The DH_Reverb SynthEdit module was developed to be a basic stereo reverb effect, based on the Schroeder / Moorer reverb model. Inputs: L In (mono), R In - Left or mono and Right audio inputs Gate - Depends on Mode: Gated mode - turns reverb on and off Freeze mode - holds input to reverb constant for a sustain effect Normal mode - not used Size - Varies the depth of the reflecting space Width - Varies the width of the reflecting space Damp - Varies the amount by which high frequencies are damped or absorbed Mix - Varies the amount of dry (input) and wet (effected) sound in the output Mode - Normal, Gated, or Freeze Outputs: L Out, R Out - Left and Right audio outputs Notes: The module's code makes use of SSE instructions for greater efficiency in processing its extensive floating point calculations. Therefore, it may not run on some very old computers. It will run on Pentium III and later Intel processors, and on Athlon XP and later AMD processors. The module uses intelligent idle-mode management to conserve CPU when it is not processing audio. It remains active after its input stops long enough to process the reverb tail. Then it determines, based on the status signals coming in on its input pins from upstream modules, whether to enter sleep mode, which uses 0 CPU but depends on upstream modules to signal the resumption of input, or to monitor its own input, which uses a small amount of CPU, but is necessary in cases where the upstream modules do not send status signals when their output starts and stops.
