The genre of “space-shooter” games has been there since the very early stage of the gaming industry, and it has been dominating the charts throughout its existence. The primary reason behind these games maintaining such an overwhelming popularity amongst gamers all across the globe is the fact that these games are equipped with virtually all the necessary elements that can bring an instant adrenaline rush for the gamer. The game Comet Smasher 2.0 is another fine example of an old school space shooting game. However, unlike most other titles from the genre, this game does not involve any battle against evil alien species. But the nevertheless, the plot is equally entertaining once you give it a shot. The game opens with a pretty impressive interface in black, blue and green- a typical layout seen in most of the games from the space shooting genre. The menu can be found at the right hand side of the screen. The control-options are also pretty simple, and involve both the keyboard, as well as the mouse. The overall graphics and presentation is pretty much on the satisfactory side. The game, as the name suggests, involves the player roaming around in the space in his spaceship, and shooting down any comet that comes on his way. The players can choose a difficulty level according to his or her comfort level, but the shooting has to be precise anyways. As the player advances through different levels in the game and improves on his shooting skills, new weapon systems are included in the inventory. To conclude with, the game has all the potential to live up to the expectations of any space shooting game enthusiast. Hence it receives a score of four rating points on the scale of five.
