This PanoPic app allows the users to capture the images at the same time with computing a panorama image using camera on Android phone. The application has been tested on Samsung Galaxy S with firmware version 2.2. Since it is still a Beta version and we are still trying to optimize the memory management of the implementation, therefore maximum 3 images are allowed in the stitching process. To start stitching process, press the camera button and wait for shutter sound with status update to 1/3. Then pan the camera to shoot the next frame and wait for shutter sound with status update to 2/3. The user can either press the camera button to start stitching process 2 images or pan the camera further to shoot the last frame and wait for shutter sound with status update to 3/3. Please make sure that each image has some overlap.During the processing time, the popup shows “Processing..computing panorama”. Once it finishes, the user can either save the panorama image in SD card or share. It is recommended to save in the SD card as the image can be edited and shared later. Due to memory management the user should wait for a while before creating another new panorama image after finish processing a panorama image.
