MacIrssi Description

Based on the *nix IRC client irssi, MacIrssi is a powerful, free of charge, open source IRC client. Based on the *nix IRC client irssi , MacIrssi combines the power of the irssi engine with an elegant and flexible GUI.MacIrssi is a powerful, free of charge, open source IRC client.MacIrssi is extremely configurable. Some things can be changed in the preference panel. Everything else is configured by editing the configuration files that resides in the folder ~/.irssi (invisible since it starts with a dot). What's New in This Release: · Note: As of 0.8.6.5, Perl is only available while running MacIrssi on Snow Leopard. · Now supports Snow Leopard, cases where MacIrssi would crash if it loaded perl scripts on Snow Leopard.. · Fixes problems with detecting URLs in text, also properly links the hash (#) character into browsers and no longer double escapes escaped characters. · Fixes bugs with font selection in preferences on Tiger. · Background colours in IRC text are now implemented. It is still not possible to send text with colours, hopefully coming soon. · Fixes problems with using the /window move commands with the vertical channel list. · Reduced the overall binary size, frameworks were being copied to the release DMG multiple times; thanks to broken_chaos for the tip off. · Several nickname list right-click commands now coalesce their server requests into a single action (eg. +ooo instead of three lots of +o) · Spell checking state is now remember as you close MacIrssi. · Bold (*foo*) and underlined (_foo_) text is now rendered as such. However, the default font does not support bold type while not antialiased. · Fixed a couple of rare crashes. · Using /window name now properly renames window titles. · Character set is now correctly set in Irssi's internal settings when set from the preferences pane.
