This eliminates the noise and the half-second system freeze accompanied by it. Declunk continuously runs in the background as a system process (daemon). At the specified interval, which is 5 seconds by default, it will write a temporary file in the directory /tmp on your hard disk, then sleep again for 5 seconds. After that the file is deleted again and it again sleeps for 5 seconds. This process repeats until the program is terminated.This has the following effect: the hard disk will not power down or park its heads, because every 5 seconds there is some small piece of data to write to the disk.
