Whether you have a business with a complex accrual based account structure, a small business using cash accounting, or just want to manage your personal finances better, this software provides the necessary tools. The hierarchical account structure provides an intuitive account organization, and the ability to clone account sub-trees is particularly useful for property rental company accounting. Importing transactions is a breeze. The software will learn to associate accounts with fields in the imported transactions, and will automatically credit and debit the appropriate accounts. The software supports importing bank statements in Quicken QFX format, Pay Pal transaction reports, as well as a generic CSV import format. For business applications, the automatic calculation of depreciation and interest expense will simplify your purchase and disposition accounting, and the software will generate depreciation and amortization schedules to simplify tax preparation. The Accounting Tool Box provides built-in invoice management that simplifies tracking of past-due accounts, but also a flexible transaction sorting and filtering capability. In addition to generating financial statements, the software can create expense Pareto charts, a chart showing revenue and expense by month both historical and projected, with integrated surplus, and can generate detailed customizable balance sheet reports. This is extremely useful when you own multiple rental properties, with each property being represented by a similar account structure. · BulletAutomatic Calculation of Depreciation Expense: Supports straight line, double declining balance (with customizable multiplier), and sum of years digits methods. For each method, you can select the start and end of year convention – half year, quarterly, or mid-month. Adjusted cost basis is automatically updated based off of the depreciation expense. Allows printing of depreciation schedules. · BulletAutomatic Loan Amortization: The software will automatically compute a loan’s accumulated interest based off of the payments it finds in imported transactions, and the loan’s balance is automatically updated. You can enter transactions specifying changes in interest rate for variable rate loans. Allows printing of loan amortization schedules. · BulletImportation of bank and credit card date using Quicken QFX format. Also supports a generic format to allow importation of unsupported formats. · BulletImportation of Pay-Pal statements · BulletThe software will learn which transactions are associated with which accounts, and in most cases, when transactions are imported, will be able to automatically debit and credit the appropriate accounts. · BulletReport and Plot Generation: Generates detailed customizable profit and loss reports comparing actual revenue and expense to targeted. These reports can be exported in CSV format to allow custom financial statement creation with a spreadsheet. · BulletAbility to filter and sort transactions based off of multiple criteria, including but not limited to date, type, counterparty, invoice number, status, and account. · Bullet Invoice management – The ability to define opening and closing transactions, and have the software tell you which invoice numbers are associated with a specified time period between an opening and closing transaction. One application is accounts receivable management, where you want to know which are 30 days past due, 60 days past due, · Bullet Generation of Full Financial Statements, including income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows. · Bullet Time Machine – you can set the current date to any time, allowing you to view a snapshot of account balances at that point in time.
