Snatcher is a simple full-text search engine for Japanese or English text. Snatcher is a simple full-text search engine for Japanese or English text. It features full-text retrieval of a Web site by the use of only one command. Snatcher can be extended by using preprocessor programs.Snatcher can deal not only with plain text, but also with HTML, XML, man, PDF and so on. It features not only keyword search with a boolean information retrieval model, but also relational document search with a vector space model.Snatcher was designed for Japanese, and documents and log messages are only in Japanese. But it can process both English and Japanese documents.Requirements:· Perl· rsync· ChaSen· gdbmInstallation:To install the software, run ./configure makeThen run "make install" as the superuser.The programs are installed in /usr/local/bin by default. Edit src/Makefile to change this.The man pages are installed in /usr/local/man/man1 by default. Edit doc/Makefile to change this.If you want to use --encoder with snap-register (e.g. for compressed repositories) you must patch rsync with rsync.patch and rebuild it. If you don't care about using --encoder, then you don't have to patch rsync.
